I’m taking a non-credit weekend course at UNO in beginning birdwatching. There were two classroom sessions and the other four are field trips (immersion learning at it’s best, eh?). The first field trip was March 14th, to Audubon Park. It was quite interesting even though I’ve been to the park many times – whenever I went, I went to the same area because I am quite fond of herons and egrets… but there are so many other birds too in the trees away from the water. While I don’t think I will become a devoted warbler person (wow, what a neck crick), I did learn a lot. I actually got few half-way decent photos as well, before the rain came, but I should say that many of these are strictly documentary:
