Wow. I think this one gives a better impression of the scale than yesterday’s. It’s sometimes difficult to remember that the Grand Canyon is much more than a single “trench”.
It’s amazing to me that all of that was carved by one river.
And yet, even that barely gives you any concept! (It doesn’t help that landscapes are definitely NOT my forte…)
The gist of the formation is “carved by the river”, but there is some debate about other processes that may have helped as well.
Well, there is this one theory involving Paul Bunyan dragging his axe across the landscape….
You mean it wasn’t a cat scratch from a giant celestial cat?
