I used to make concrete buns… but that was before I worked in a bread bakery where I learned not to do that anymore… come to think of it, I also learned to improvise and experiment there, rather than being stuck to recipe… not a bad lot of lessons, eh?

Got an email from a friend joking that I’m aiming for “buns of concrete”, *lol*, rather than “buns of steel”. (Yeah, ok, maybe you had to be there. I thought it was funny at least.) Not sure I prefer that turn of phrase though – while both are obviously strong, concrete seems rather stodgy, steel more malleable, elegant, fluid. Who wouldn’t want malleability, elegance, and fluidity?

Anyway, there is progress! I have lost a total of 4 inches, an inch off the waist, hips, and each thigh. I’m pretty happy with that. My upper arms have not gotten any bigger, but even so they seem to look better – a little less tricep wave, and little more bicep – *grin* always good news to a gal!

My biggest issue so far is with consistency. Because each of the exercises is still so new to me, I spend a lot of time making sure my form is correct as I perform them. For me, that takes a little away from the enjoyment – I don’t like to do things I’m not good at, heh, and slack sometimes, or do stuff I already know how to do instead of what’s scheduled. But I know that strangeness will pass, and soon the exercises will feel comfortable and familiar. I look forward to the day I walk into the gym and feel “I’m home!”

  1. It’s been a little while since I checked in with you. Have to tell you that the Bandana project scares me a little. I just wanted to see how your routine is really going. Grand plans are grand, but it’s the consistent execution of those grand plans that make something happen. Don’t let me fool you though. I’m still very good at only the first part. I’m very good at it.
